Role Overview
Equity Bank is seeking a Senior Officer – Channel Application Support to oversee the stability, security, and performance of our digital banking channels. This role is crucial in ensuring seamless functionality of mobile banking, internet banking, ATMs, POS systems, and API integrations. The ideal candidate will troubleshoot technical issues, optimize system performance, and collaborate with vendors and internal teams to enhance digital banking services.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain banking applications, ensuring high availability and optimal performance.
- Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues affecting digital banking channels.
- Collaborate with vendors and development teams to deploy updates, patches, and new features.
- Ensure compliance with banking regulations, security policies, and industry best practices.
- Provide technical support to branches, customers, and internal teams on application-related concerns.
- Manage APIs and middleware connecting banking channels with core banking systems.
- Utilize monitoring tools to track system performance and generate management reports.
- Address service desk issues promptly and ensure escalated tickets are resolved within SLA timelines.
Required Qualifications, Skills & Experience
Knowledge:
- Strong understanding of banking systems including core banking applications (Finacle) and digital banking platforms.
- Familiarity with IT Service Management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL (Incident, Problem, and Change Management).
- Knowledge of cybersecurity principles and compliance with banking regulations.
- Ability to work with IT teams, vendors, and business users in a dynamic environment.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in SQL, Unix/Linux, API integration, and application servers.
- Strong monitoring and troubleshooting abilities.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
Experience:
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in a similar role, preferably in the banking sector.
